This course provided me with an excellent opportunity to expand my knowledge of some of the critical components of the teaching world today. It's vital for us, as future teachers, to familiarize ourselves with these aspects in order to be as prepared as possible to enter the teaching field. It was very difficult to come up with the topic I found most critical to teaching, but in the end, I decided that cyberbullying was the most impactful and required the most attention for several reasons. Having said that, it was so beneficial to read my classmate's blogs throughout the semester and observe their takeaways on specific concepts. https://youtu.be/JELyafh46Jg

teaching, class. (2018, November 26). Masters reflections – the home/school relationship . Class Teaching. Retrieved April 23, 2023, from https://classteaching.wordpress.com/2018/11/26/masters-reflections-the-home-school-relationship/ Part One:    After an examination of this week's module, it is very clear as to why it is very beneficial to have a positive and proactive home-to-school connection. Retrieved April 12, 2023, from https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/guidance/social-media-how-to-use-it-safely               Especially in recent times, we have seen a dramatic increase in the usage of social media. Its use has become a common practice, with one of the primary audiences being students. With this, a large debate has occurred pertaining to whether or not social media benefits or destroys our society as a whole. I tend to believe that the drawbacks of social media tend to outweigh the benefits, especially for those in school.               One of the reasons I argue that social media does more bad than good in terms of school is the effects it can have on students from a psychological standpoint. With phone usage, it's essential to be responsible with not only what you use it for but for how often you're on the device. With social media, there is an...

For my blog post this week, I decided to examine a lesson plan pertaining to Opioid use. I found this to be a very informative and beneficial lesson plan, as I felt it was set up in such a way that students could better retain the information. This lesson plan contains multiple articles within it that have corresponding activities. These articles include information pertaining to marijuana, opioids, and screen time. For each of these sections, the lesson plan comes with critical components that will test the student's knowledge of the information they're reading. One of the staple components of the lesson plan was reading comprehension questions. These were implemented throughout the plan as they tested to see what information the students retained and comprehended from the reading. For example, within the marijuana section, the comprehension questions looked to see if students could identify the effects marijuana has on the brain and why it is that teenagers are more vulnerab...
